The story of Grim

part 3

In the following years, Grim set up home on the land that saved his life and was granted territory at the mouth of the Haven. This was the foundation of modern day Grimsby - a name translated from Old Norse as a forbidding place in the marshes.

Years later, Grim and his wife, Leva, died as disease spread through their land. Legend has it, they were buried in a Viking longship on Holme Hill.

Havelock moved to Lincoln where he married a Saxon Princess before returning to his homeland to reclaim his crown.

The Grim and Havelock saga still enchants Grimsby to this day.

Grim FalFest will share our story with the world!
